Internet and broadband reach to our homes in North East is still not up to the level. Without proper infrastructure for broadband networks or other form of data communications, online media, education systems, tremendous information which are available on the web still not reaching our whole population. Bharat Sanchar Nigam (BSNL), the state-owned telecommunications company in India Assam
The report states that BSNL will invest INR3.84 billion in fiscal 2011 to establish approximately 850 new towers in the North East region. Additionally, it has received INR4,16,000 for building additional capacity in 2010-11 fiscal in the North East.
